CNN Doubles Down on Claim They Weren’t Tipped Off About FBI’s Roger Stone Raid

Longtime Republican operative and former campaign adviser to President Trump, Roger Stone, was arrested in a pre-dawn raid by the FBI on Friday after a District of Columbia grand jury indicted him on seven counts.

CNN’s cameras were outside Stone’s Fort Lauderdale home, in place to capture the raid before the news about the indictments broke. The reporter on the scene said he was there because of “reporter’s instinct.

But others have speculated that CNN might have been tipped off by law enforcement.

President Trump even questioned, “Who alerted CNN to be there?” in a recent tweet, which caused some CNN reporters and analysts to double down on their claim of “good reporting.”
