According to a report from Yahoo Sports, lawyers for unemployed quarterback Colin Kaepernick are planning on issuing a subpoena to force testimony from President Trump and Vice President Pence.

Kaepernick is currently suing the NFL, alleging that the league’s owners conspired to keep him out of a job after his national anthem protests.

Apparently, he thinks the president was involved in that effort, according to Yahoo’s sources:

Kaepernick’s legal team is expected to seek federal subpoenas in the coming weeks to compel testimony from Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and other officials familiar with the president’s agenda on protesting NFL players, sources with knowledge of the quarterback’s collusion case against the NFL told Yahoo Sports.

It’s not clear if federal courts would compel Trump, Pence, or other members of the White House to testify. If they do, it would be the third high-profile legal proceeding in which the president finds himself.
