Comcast Accused of Calling One Customer 150 Times in One Month.

Can you imagine receiving 150 calls from Comcast in one month? Well, that’s what one Florida resident is alleging Comcast Cable Communications LLC did, in order to collect an alleged debt.

Mathieu Suffrin of Lake County, Florida, “filed a complaint on Sept. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Ocala Division against Comcast Cable Communications LLC alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act,” according to the Legal News Line.

Mr. Suffrin is alleging that, in late July of this year, “he received approximately 150 calls from” Comcast over a 30-day period, in an attempt to collect a debt.

Having had enough of the constant phone calls from Comcast, Mr. Suffrin requested that they stop contacting him, a request that Comcast ignored.

Legal News Line reported:

“The plaintiff holds Comcast Cable Communications LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly invaded his privacy and placed nonemergency calls to his cellphone using an automatic telephone dialing system in violation of the TCPA.”

Mr. Suffrin is seeking “statutory damages, punitive damages, actual damages, costs, interest and attorney’s fees.”
