Newsmax TV announced on Monday that it had reached a deal with “Comcast to carry its 24/7 cable news channel to Xfinity TV customers on the X1 platform,” and plans to reach 80 million U.S. cable/satellite homes by the middle 2019.

“Comcast is the largest cable operator in the nation,” Michael Clemente, the CEO of Newsmax Broadcasting, said in a statement. “And we appreciate their decision to recognize Newsmax TV as a valuable independent programmer for their viewers.”

Newsmax TV, which was launched in 2014 and is currently in 50 million U.S. cable/satellite homes, has “12 original hours of news and content each day.”

With the Comcast and more to come in the weeks ahead, Newsmax will be in 80 million homes by the middle of 2019.

This announcement by Newsmax comes only a few months after the Federal Communications Commission blocked the Sinclair Broadcast Group’s planned acquisition of Tribune Media’s TV stations in July.

Clemente added that “the network plans to ramp up programming in the coming months as it prepares for 2020 presidential election coverage that will begin in earnest next year.”

Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly is already on Newsmax TV three weekdays, as well as on Saturday and Sunday. It has also been reported that Newsmax is talking to Sean Spicer, Scaramucci, Kim Guilfoyle, Eric Bolling, others about developing shows.

Despite the deal with Comcast, Newsmax TV will still be available for free through a livestream on its website.
