Former FBI Director James Comey refused to accept that Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation found no collusion between President Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia during an interview on Wednesday.

NBC’s Lester Holt asked Comey whether Trump should be breathing a sigh of relief given Attorney General William Barr’s memo summarizing the Mueller report, According to Barr, Mueller found no evidence of collusion.

“The language was pretty clear there was nothing between this campaign and Russia,” Holt said.

“I don’t know that I read the letter from the attorney general that way. I read him as saying the special counsel didn’t find that the evidence established that there was any conspiracy between an American and the Russians,” Comey said. “What other evidence there is, what evidence there might be that falls short of that standard, I have no idea.”

“So, I don’t know what the special counsel found and I’m prepared – and I hope everybody is – to wait and get the transparency that we need,” Comey said.
