Cramer Holds Double-Digit Lead Over Heitkamp in North Dakota, Per Poll

Rep. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) leads Sen. Heidi Heitkamp by 10 percentage points, according to a new poll conducted by Gray TV. Cramer earned the support of 51 percent in the survey of likely voters, while Heitkamp won over only 41 percent.

One of the key factors emerging in the race, per this poll, is the Supreme Court nomination battle. This poll found strong support for President Trump’s nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh:

Sixty percent of North Dakota voters told pollsters they support Kavanaugh, who is facing sexual misconduct allegations from multiple women. Twenty-seven percent said they oppose him.

The poll was conducted after the allegations came out against him but before he testified in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee last week.

Fully 21 percent of North Dakota voters surveyed said Kavanaugh’s confirmation was the most important issue facing the country right now. Another 13 percent said healthcare, while 12 percent said immigration.

Cramer will not have an opportunity to vote to confirm Kavanaugh in the House, but Heitkamp will in the Senate. She is one of five senators who have not publicly stated how they will vote when Kavanaugh’s nomination comes to the Senate floor.
