CRNC Chair: College Republicans Set ‘Record Attendance’ at CPAC

College Republican National Committee (CRNC) Chairman Chandler Thornton told NTK Network on Thursday at CPAC that college Republicans attended the conservative gathering in “record” numbers, ready to use it as a spark before the 2018 midterms.

“There’s so much excitement here,” Thornton said. “This is really a launching pad for the election cycle.”

The leader of college Republican groups across the country told NTK Network that GOP students would learn about the conservative movement at CPAC. They will take that knowledge back to their campuses, Thornton said, to “recruit their friends to get involved in Republican campaigns.”

“I think we have record attendance from college Republicans,” he pointed out, a good sign for young conservatives ahead of the 2018 elections, where the GOP will attempt to defend its majorities in Congress.

The CRNC chair described his organization as the “union of the right,” and said the enthusiasm among its members will be an effective counter to Democratic attempts to reclaim Congress.
