Chair of the House Democratic Caucus Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY) said during an interview Friday that the House Democratic Caucus would deal with the issue of who will replace House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) as leader of the House Democratic Caucus after the election.

Bloomberg News asked Crowley whether he was part of a succession plan to replace Pelosi, it has been rumored that Crowley could potentially replace Pelosi if she decides to retire after the 2018 midterm elections.

“We have very wise men and women in our caucus. They know what they are doing. We know what we’re doing, and we’ll deal with those issues after the election,” Crowley said.

Bloomberg News followed up by asking Crowley if he was ruling himself out as a replacement for Pelosi.

“I am focused on winning back the House of Representatives, as is Nancy Pelosi,” Crowley said.
