In what might be the most surprising story of the 2020 Democratic presidential primary so far, Axios’ Mike Allen is reporting that several Democratic presidential hopefuls “have sought advice” from twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

According to “a longtime Clinton confidant” that spoke to Allen, Clinton has already met with “Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Cory Booker, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, and L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti.”

These meetings with Clinton have been “going on for months and will continue,” according to Allen.

This is the same Hillary Clinton who has twice run for president, both times as a heavy favorite and both times her campaigns ended in disaster.

In 2008, Clinton was the heavy favorite to win the Democratic primary for months, only to be eventually defeated the junior senator from Illinois and eventual president of the United States, Barack Obama.

Then in 2016, Clinton again was the heavy favorite to win the Democratic primary but ended up barely holding off Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), a self-avowed democratic socialist who isn’t even member of the Democratic Party.

After barely winning the Democratic primary, Clinton was expected to easily defeat the Republican nominee, Donald Trump, and we all know how that turned out.

Given Clinton’s track record, those 2020 hopefuls who are actively seeking her advice are like a first-year NFL head coach asking former Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson how to win an NFL game.
