Dem Congressional Aides Think Pelosi Should Be Replaced

A new poll conducted by CQ Roll Call found that “a plurality of Democratic congressional aides” think House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi should be replaced as the leader of the House Democratic caucus, regardless if Democrats retake the House in 2018.

According to CQ Roll Call:

In a sign of the growing unrest on the left, a plurality of Democratic congressional aides surveyed by CQ Roll Call last month said the party should replace Nancy Pelosi as leader whether Democrats win a House majority in November or not.

…In addition to the 41 percent who said Pelosi should not return as leader in 2019 no matter what, another 23 percent said she should not if Democrats fail to retake control of the House, while 29 percent said Democrats should give her another term as leader, win or lose.”

Pelosi claims she intends to be speaker of the House if Democrats retake the House in 2018.

However, this might prove difficult for her, as a growing list of Democratic congressional candidates have said that they will not support Pelosi as the leader of the House Democratic caucus if they’re elected.

The poll also found that “nearly four in five Democratic aides” believe that Democrats will retake the House following the 2018 midterm elections.
