Despite 2-Year Mueller Report, Schiff Still Insists There Was Collusion

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) was defiant Tuesday when he told the Washington Post that, despite the two-year investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller that found no evidence of collusion between Donald Trump and Russia, that he still believes there was.

While the full Mueller report has not yet been released, U.S. Attorney General William Barr released a four-page summary of the report’s findings on Sunday. The summary indicated that Mueller’s team found no evidence of collusion.

Schiff, who said on national television in December that Trump could face jail time for this alleged collusion, remained defiant.

“Undoubtedly there is collusion,” Schiff said in an interview this week, after Attorney General William P. Barr submitted a four-page letter to Congress summarizing key aspects of Mueller’s report. “We will continue to investigate the counterintelligence issues. That is, is the president or people around him compromised in any way by a hostile foreign power? . . . It doesn’t appear that was any part of Mueller’s report.”

Some Democrats argue that Schiff could technically be correct. “Democrats maintain that Schiff is not wrong in saying there was evidence of collusion even if Mueller determined that the matter did not rise to a level that warranted prosecution,” the Post reported.

Trump, on the other hand, spent part of Tuesday calling Schiff a “pencil neck” who is only capable of driving a golf ball 50 yards.
