"The people that know, know that Ivanka would be dynamite but you know I'd then be accused of nepotism, if you can believe it."

President Donald Trump said that his daughter, Ivanka Trump, would be “dynamite” as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations but added that he would be accused of nepotism if he appointed Ivanka to the position on Tuesday.

Trump was addressing reporters questions about outgoing U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and who might replace her before heading to a campaign event.

“I’ve heard ‘Ivanka.’ I’ve heard, ‘How good would Ivanka be?'” Trump said. “The people that know, know that Ivanka would be dynamite, but you know I’d then be accused of nepotism, if you can believe it.”

A reporter asked Trump if Ivanka was under serious consideration for the role.

“I think Ivanka would be incredible,” Trump said.

Trump added that he’s “not sure there’s anybody more competent in the world.”

CNN reported earlier in the day that Ivanka had laughed at speculation surrounding her as a replacement to Haley.
