‘Dreamers’ Protest Pelosi’s Office After 8-Hour DACA Marathon

"United We Dream," a pro-DACA group, was apparently unimpressed with Pelosi's effort, flooding her office with protesters.

“United We Dream,” a pro-DACA group, spent hours protesting in House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) office on Thursday, just a day after Pelosi delivered an 8-hour speech on the House floor in support of their cause.

“[Im]migrant youth and allies are in hour 4 in Nancy Pelosi’s office to share their stories and to get her to call on House Democrats to reject any spending bill that does not include protections from deportation,” the group commented on its live video.

The protesters offered call-and-response type chants, discussing the importance of offering amnesty to Dreamers.

On Wednesday, Pelosi delivered an 8-hour speech, decrying efforts to pass a budget without tying a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program to the bill.

This is not the first time pro-DACA activists have protested Pelosi as she was fighting for them. A group interrupted one of the House Minority Leader’s events in September, demanding that she achieve amnesty for all illegal immigrants, not just DACA recipients.
