Following the Philadelphia Eagles’ first Super Bowl win, head coach Doug Pederson paused the postgame celebrations to refocus his players on the grander scheme of things.

Pederson reminded his players that their opponent, the New England Patriots, were a “fine” football team, and they should be “complimentary” towards them in the media.

After a back-and-forth with his team, the coach pointed to the ground and told his players to “take a knee.”

The team then all dropped to one knee, bowed their heads, and recited the Lord’s Prayer.

The Eagles were one of the only NFL teams on which no player kneeled during the national anthem during the 2016 season. Instead, they took a knee to praise God after the ultimate football victory.
