Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) refused to address President Trump’s recent criticism of her claims of Native American ancestry while speaking with reporters after a campaign event in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Sunday.

Reporters asked Warren about Trump’s tweet in which he questioned whether Warren would run as the first Native American presidential candidate or if she had decided to drop her Native American ancestry claims after the backlash.

“The question now is are we going to follow him on every single racist insult and taunt that he tweets?” Warren asked the reporters. “Or are we going to take back this conversation in America [and] talk about what is broke, talk about what we can do to change it, talk about a better future for America?”
