Former Obama administration national security official Evelyn Farkas told MSNBC on Friday that Michael Flynn contacted the Russians during the Trump transition in order to prevent a vote on an “anti-Israeli” resolution at the United Nations.

“He was admitting that he had discussions with the Russians about blocking a UN Security Council resolution which was anti-Israeli. It was against the settlements,” Farkas said.

She then caught herself. “Not anti-Israeli,” the Obama official tried to clarify. “It was against the settlements in Israel.”

Farkas blasted the Trump team for trying to mess with their “anti-Israeli” policy.

Usually when resolutions against Israeli settlements popped up at the UN, traditional American policy was to abstain. However, the Obama administration decided to vote to condemn Israel, according to Farkas’s account.

“The Trump administration was basically playing loosey-goosey with U.S. foreign policy that [President Obama] was in charge of,” she added, referencing the Logan Act in naming the offense as a violation of federal law.

Farkas also connected Jared Kushner, who is Jewish, to the anti-Israel resolution.

Whether or not the Trump administration pursued contacts with the Russians, Farkas made clear that Obama pursued an “anti-Israeli” policy at the UN.
