FLASHBACK: Biden Bragged About Receiving an Award from George Wallace

While campaigning in Orlando, Florida, on Tuesday, former Vice President Joe Biden attacked President Donald Trump by comparing him to former Alabama Governor George Wallace who was notorious for his hardline segregationist views.

“This president is more like George Wallace than George Washington,” Biden said at the event.

There’s just one problem for Biden. While campaigning in Alabama in 1987, Biden “bragged” about receiving an award from Wallace in 1973.

According got to a Miami Herald article published on September 20, 1987:

“But campaigning in Alabama last April, Biden talked of his sympathy for the South, bragged of an award he had received from George Wallace in 1973 and said, ‘we (Delawareans) were on the South’s side in the Civil War.'”

The article was written by Robert Boyd and was found by NTK Network’s staff by using the LexisNexis database.
