Georgetown Professor and New York Times contributing opinion writer Michael Eric Dyson said that President Trump was “the fleshly thesaurus of white supremacy reduced to one body,” and suggested that many Republicans are racists during an interview on ABC’s “The View” on Monday.

Co-host Meghan McCain asked Dyson how he thought African Americans would vote in the upcoming midterm elections.

Dyson said that Trump was “a wake-up call for all us,” and that Hillary Clinton was more qualified to be president than Trump.

“On top of that, she also possessed the kind of integrity we were doubtful of her? Look at this mendacious, relentlessly lying, bigoted, ill-informed person that we have,” Dyson said. “He is the fleshly thesaurus of white supremacy reduced to one body.”

Dyson then argued that “if Republicans weren’t so racist, they could encourage black people who are morally conservative to be on their side.”

Co-host Joy Behar asked Dyson if he thought all Republicans were bigoted.

“Not all of them but enough of them to make a difference,” Dyson said.
