NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, during his annual state of the league address Wednesday, said that he was unsure if the league would address the national anthem protest in the offseason and that he had not spoken to President Trump about his criticism of players who protest the national anthem.

A reporter asked Goodell if the league would consider keeping players in the locker room while the national anthem played and whether he had spoken to President Trump about his criticism of players who have protested the national anthem.

“The answer to your second question is no,” Goodell responded. “The answer to your first question is I don’t know what we’ll consider in the offseason. I’m still trying to get through the Super Bowl.”

During President Trump’s first State of the Union on Tuesday night, he appeared to take a veiled shot at the NLF over its national anthem protest.
