Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) admitted that she had not spoken to the former staffer who accused a top Harris aide of sexual harassment during an interview with Univision’s Ilia Calderón on Sunday.

Larry Wallace, who served as a senior adviser in Harris’s Senate office, was forced to resign back in December after reaching a $400,000 settlement with Danielle Hartley, who accused Wallace of sexual harassment while the two worked at the California Department of Justice. At the time, both worked under Harris, who was then the attorney general of the state.

Calderón asked Harris about the incident and whether anyone in the attorney general’s office had informed Harris about it when it occurred.

“I did not know about that case,” Harris said.

Calderón followed up by asking Harris if she had spoken with Hartley to offer her support.

“I have indicated that I am supportive of all women who come forward and speak up and have the courage to speak up,” Harris said.

But Calderón pressed Harris, asking if she had spoken with Hartley specifically.

“In this specific case, I have not talked to the victim,” Harris responded.
