Harvard Poll: Trump Approval Rises Amid Immigration Crisis

President Trump’s approval rating continues to rise, according to the results of a new Harvard/Harris poll released on Thursday, with 47 percent of Americans supporting the president.

The president enjoyed a 45-percent approval rating in May, ticking up two points this month to his current high.

The poll, conducted at the height of the immigration crisis on the border, on June 24 and 25, shows that the administration’s family separation policy may not damage his standing as much as some in the media thought.

In fact, Trump’s approval among Hispanics improved the most amidst the immigration crisis. Only 25 percent of Hispanics gave the president a thumbs-up in May, but that number shot up to 35 percent in June.

That compares to a modest 2-point improvement among whites and a 3-point drop among African-Americans.
