Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-LA) has reportedly talked with his colleagues on the House Judiciary Committee about bringing in NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to answer questions about the blown pass interference call that occurred during the NFC championship game on Sunday.

New Orleans Saints fans have been in a state of outrage after referees did not call pass interference during the NFC championship game against the LA Rams, which many feel cost the Saints an opportunity to play in Super Bowl 53.

Some have even suggested that Goodell should have the Saints and Rams replay the game because of how outrageous the blown call was.

Well, now it appears that the United States Congress might start an investigation into the blown call.

“@RepRichmond tells me he’s spoken to his colleagues on Judiciary antitrust subcommittee about hauling in Roger Goodell and NFL to answer Qs about blown @Saints call,” the Washington Post’s Mike DeBonis tweeted on Wednesday.

“I will say this… He was mostly, but perhaps not entirely, serious,” DeBonis added in a follow-up tweet.

It’s not known whether House Judiciary Committee Chair Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) supports Richmond’s proposed investigation or how much this exercise would cost American taxpayers.
