IG Report: FBI Agents Texted ‘We’ll Stop’ Trump From Becoming President

According to The Washington Post, FBI Agent Peter Strozk texted fellow FBI employee Lisa Page that “we’ll stop” Donald Trump from becoming president of the United States, as they launched an investigation into his campaign.

Strozk was key in opening the investigation into the Trump campaign, launching the probe in July 2016 after obtaining information on Trump campaign operative George Papadopolous.

That led to this text message exchange with his colleague and lover, Lisa Page:

“[Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!” the lawyer, Lisa Page, wrote to Strzok.

“No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it,” Strzok responded.

The report concluded as a whole that Strozk and Page exhibited no “political bias” that directly affected the investigation.

But the texts between Page and Strzok could lend credence to the president’s narrative of a politically-motivated investigation harassing his campaign and administration.
