In Iran, Oliver Stone Says Trump is ‘Beelzebub’

Controversial filmmaker Oliver Stone compared President Trump to “Beelzebub,” the infamous demon featured in John Milton’s “Paradise Lost,” while speaking recently in Iran, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Speaking in the country that refers to the United States as the “Great Satan,” made the comment to an Iranian reporter.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, he went after Trump and French President Macron:

Having once compared George W. Bush to John Wayne, he told a local journalist that he would have to liken Trump to “Beelzebub,” a name sometimes given to the devil.

He called Macron a “young man without much sense of history or memory of the great traditions of France” who sought a return to colonialism and imperialism, and compared him to French president Chirac, “who stood up to Bush” on the invasion of Iraq.

Stone also told reporters that he would like to make a film about ISIS, but the United States and Israel would prevent him from doing it “honestly.”

“It’s a very good idea, but the world is very political and there are many blocking forces and controversies, for example in the U.S., Saudi Arabia and Israel. It would be hard to make it honestly,” he said of the ISIS film. The director did not elaborate as to what an “honest” portrayal of ISIS would entail.
