Is Andrew Cuomo Bullying a Female Member of Congress into Backing Pelosi?

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) seems to be attempting to bully Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-NY) into supporting House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) bid to be the next speaker of the House.

Rice, whose Congressional District is located in Long Island, New York is part of the small but vocal group of House Democrats who have vowed not to support Pelosi’s speaker bid, claiming that it is time for a new generation of leadership in the House Democratic caucus.

During an interview with WNYC radio on Monday, Cuomo accused Rice trying to “aid and abet the Republicans,” and added that Rice’s opposition was “jeopardizing” Pelosi’s leadership according to the New York Post.

“It’s not about you,” Cuomo said. “It’s about electing a Democratic Congress to stop bad things from happening” with President Trump.

“The party establishment is circling the wagons for one of two reasons: either they didn’t hear voters’ call for a generational change in leadership, or they’re simply choosing to ignore it,” a spokesman for Rice to the New York Post.
