The Missouri U.S. Senate race may be slipping even further away from the incumbent, Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO), as her contentious battle with Attorney General Josh Hawley (R-MO) heads into its final week.

The Weekly Standard reported Sunday that a new poll from Missouri Scout finds Hawley up four points on McCaskill, 49 percent to 45 percent.

The new poll, which was commissioned by nonpartisan news agency Missouri Scout and conducted between October 24 and 25 by GOP polling group Remington Research, shows Hawley leading McCaskill by four percentage points, 49 percent to 45 percent, with three percent undecided and three third-party candidates pulling in one percent each. The poll surveyed more than 1,300 likely voters across the state, and the margin of error was 2.6 points.

The RealClearPolitics (RCP) polling average of the race, which includes the new Scout poll conducted by Remington Research, has Hawley up an average of two points. Hawley has led in the RCP average of Missouri polls for almost three months, since August 13, 2018.

On Friday, nonpartisan analyst Nathan Gonzales moved the Missouri Senate race from “Toss-up” to “Tilt Republican,” a ruling in Hawley’s favor.
