Is Trump’s Net-Positive Approval in MO Bad News for Claire McCaskill?

A new poll by Morning Consult, released Thursday, found that President Trump still has a net-positive approval rating in Missouri.

Morning Consult measured the president’s approval rating in 12 states that will decide control of the U.S. Senate in 2018. From February to March, Trump’s net approval rating dropped in eight of 12 key states.

Missouri was one of the four states where Trump’s approval rating did not drop, with “no change” in Trump’s net approval from February to March. Trump’s net approval rating is Missouri (plus-five points) is third-best among the 12 states.

This is all bad news for Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO), who has had an awkward time trying to explain her opposition to Trump’s policies and her hugging of Washington, D.C. liberals like ex-President Obama.

If Trump’s positive ratings in Missouri hold, McCaskill may be in for a rude Wednesday after the November 2018 election.
