Former White House communications director Hope Hicks testified before a closed-door hearing of the House Judiciary Committee this week. During that hearing, committee chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) repeatedly referred to Hicks by the wrong name.

A 273-page transcript reveals that Nadler no less than three times referred to Hicks as “Ms. Lewandowski” before she interrupted and corrected him.

Here’s a portion of that transcript:

“Yeah. Ms. Lewandowski, I think, in reading this —“

“My name is Ms. Hicks,” she said.

“I’m sorry, Ms. Hicks,” Nadler replied. “I’m preoccupied.”

The Federalist’s Caroline Court called Nadler a “sexist pig” for the so-called mistake.

Part of the reason for the outrage is because discredited author Michael Wolff claimed in his book that Hicks and Lewandowski had an affair while Lewandowski was married. Wolff made a similar unsubstantiated claim about then-U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley.

“The level of disrespect by a congressman to an individual testifying before Congress is absolutely stunning,” Court wrote. “The blatant sexism Nadler displayed simply cannot be ignored.”
