Kamala Harris Can’t Say What She’s Accomplished in the Senate

If she wants to be president, the California Democrat might want to get some wins under her belt.

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), in an interview on the “Call Your Girlfriend” podcast on Friday, couldn’t tell the host one “win” that she has accomplished during her 18 months in the Senate.

Interviewer Ann Freidman asked Harris to describe her “biggest win” in Congress, and the senator’s answer revealed a lot about her tenure.

The senator first stumbled over her words in answering the question, and she eventually said that “the role I serve in various committees” was the most important aspect of her work.

Harris explained the role of oversight committees, and she emphasized her work in asking questions at hearings.

The Democrat did not mention a specific accomplishment.

Analysts often mention Harris as a potential 2020 candidate, but without an accomplishment in Congress she may have a hard time convincing the American people she could make an effective commander-in-chief.
