Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), a possible 2020 presidential candidate praised her former aide, Larry Wallace, who was accused of sexual harassment for his “leadership” in her new book, “The Truths We Hold: An American Journey.”

Wallace served as the director of the Division of Law Enforcement for Harris when she was attorney general of California. He was forced to resign from her Senate office in December when it was discovered he settled a $400,000 sexual harassment case with a former subordinate.

Harris claimed that she did not know one of her top aides was accused of sexual harassment, a claim for which The Sacramento Bee‘s editorial board blasted Harris.

However, despite these allegations, it appears that Harris didn’t want to exclude Wallace from her new book, which many view as the first step toward a presidential run.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, Harris “praises Wallace in the book for his ‘leadership’ on a team she put together tasked with developing an ‘implicit bias and procedural justice training program.'”

The book also included a picture of Harris and Wallace that they took during a trip to Mexico City.

How Harris deals with questions about Wallace will go a long way in determining her effectiveness as a 2020 presidential candidate.
