President Trump’s “Supreme Court whisperer,” Federalist Society VP Leonard Leo, predicted on Fox News Sunday that President Trump will continue to appoint judges that push for originalist and textualist readings of the law and Constitution.

“Any Supreme Court confirmation is transformative,” he said, describing the Court as evenly divided.

“At the end of the day, I think what’s really important to remember is that there’s been a movement on the Court toward being more originalist and textualist. In other words, the idea being that law means something. It has determinative meaning,” Leo explained. “That’s the trend that I think this president wants to continue.”

The late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia exemplified the originalist approach to the Constitution.
