A new Economist/YouGov poll found that 52 percent of Democrats think Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) should resign, following multiple allegations from former staffers that Conyers sexual harassed them throughout the years.

This comes after reports that Conyers will step down soon.

According to the poll, 52 percent “of those who identified as Democrats … said the Michigan Democrat should step down after allegations that he sexually harassed employees surfaced last week.” Only 18 percent of those who identified as Democrats think Conyers should not resign.

A third former Conyers staffer went public on Tuesday with allegations of sexual harassment against Conyers, “saying it wasn’t uncommon for staffers to accidentally see the congressman in his underwear.”

This new poll follows a Politico report from Tuesday that “a group of Democrats including members of the Congressional Black Caucus is privately urging Rep. John Conyers to resign.”

Politico‘s Playbook then reported on Wednesday that Conyers was spotted flying back to Detroit on Tuesday night and noted that, “the buzz around town last night was when, not if Conyers will step down.”
