Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) tweeted and deleted a photo of himself with President Trump where the two men gave a thumbs-up to the camera.

According to The Hill, Manchin tweeted the photo right before voting against the president’s signature legislative accomplishment of the year, an overhaul of the federal tax code:

But Manchin later deleted the tweet, replacing it with another post with a less provocative photo:

Manchin’s official Twitter account posted the tweet Wednesday morning, one day after the senator voted against the GOP tax-cut plan. But by the afternoon, the office had deleted that picture and reposted the tweet with a picture of the two men standing alongside each other, instead of one where the two men were giving a thumbs-up sign.

He posted another photo with the president, minus the thumbs-up:

Manchin is up for re-election in 2018 in West Virginia, a state Trump won by 42 points.
