Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) called on Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) to reverse his decision to resign in an appearance on CNN’s “New Day” on Monday.

“I think that Al Franken should go through the process of what he’s asking for, due process,” he told CNN’s Alisyn Camerota.

The CNN host asked Manchin if he believed that the Minnesota senator should refuse to resign, even after announcing he would do so amid demands from fellow Democratic senators.

“I definitely think he should not resign,” Manchin said, asking Franken to reverse his position. He called for a full ethics investigation, saying he was interested in hearing Franken’s side of the story.

Watching Democrats call for Franken’s resignation “made me sick,” Manchin said. “I’m very upset with this process.”
