Massachusetts Editorial Board Asks Warren to Take a DNA Test

An editorial board in Massachusetts published a piece on Tuesday asking Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) to take a DNA test to prove once and for all whether she does indeed have Native American heritage.

Warren’s claim that she comes from Native American descent has been the question of furious political debate ever since she ran against then-Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) in 2012.

Now, the Berkshire Eagle, a newspaper located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, is asking their senior Senator to prove her heritage once and for all.

The Berkshire Eagle editorial board suggests that Warren take a simple DNA test:

“The same technology that can match a perpetrator to a crime with virtual 100-percent certainty could settle the question of her heritage for all time. There are now so many commercial DNA heritage-tracking labs in business that they advertise on television. The going rate for one of the most popular tests is $99. All the senator needs to do is spit into a tube, wait a few weeks, and get her answer.”

…..

“So we call upon our senior senator to screw up her courage and take the spit test. If she already has but is keeping the results under wraps, we urge her to be forthcoming with them. She has nothing to lose but her Achilles’ heel.”

The NTK Network requested comment from Warren’s Washington, D.C., office on whether the Massachusetts Senator would take a DNA test. They did not respond.
