Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) attended a Nation of Islam convention in 2002, where the designated hate group’s leader – noted anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan – defended Palestinian suicide bombers.

The Daily Caller reported:

“Democratic California Rep. Maxine Waters attended a Nation of Islam convention where the hate group’s leader, Louis Farrakhan, defended Palestinian suicide bombers.”

“The convention, which took place in California in 2002, is just the latest tie to emerge between Democrats and the Nation of Islam, a Black Nationalist group known for being viciously anti-Semitic.”

Farrakhan referred to Waters as “our great congresswoman from this area,” to which the audience reportedly cheered.

During Farrakhan’s speech at the 2002 Nation of Islam convention, he “excused Palestinian suicide bombers and defended Iran for arming Palestinian terrorists.”

Farrakhan and the National of Islam have previously called Jews “Satanic,” and some believe that “white people are inherently inferior to black people.” The group has criticized interracial marriage as “unholy and wrong.”

This isn’t the first time that a notable Democrat has been tied to Farrakhan and the designated hate group the Nation of Islam.

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chair Keith Ellison (D-MN) worked with the Nation of Islam for 18 months, and previously defended Farrakhan.
