Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D-VA) said that he agreed with a Washington Post editorial that called the Green New Deal, “impractical,” during an interview on Monday.

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough asked McAuliffe whether he supported the Green New Deal.

“There are parts of it I certainly do,” McAuliffe said.

Scarborough pressed on whether he would sign on to the resolution, if McAuliffe were in Congress.

McAuliffe dodged the question, saying that he doesn’t vote in the Congress.

“Climate change, it a real issue. It’s important to the millennials, as it should be. It’s a very serious issue,” McAuliffe said.

Scarborough then asked McAuliffe about the Washington Post editorial board, which wrote that the Green New Deal isn’t practical and whether he agreed that view.

“Sure, I would,” McAuliffe said. “There are things in it that are great goals but are unrealistic.”
