McCarthy: Adam Schiff Has No Credibility on Either Side of the Aisle

"He has no credibility on either side of the aisle when it comes [to] inside the House."

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said Monday that Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has “no credibility on either side of the aisle,” in response to comments Schiff made during an interview with CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

“There’s a very real prospect that, on the day Donald Trump leaves office, the Justice Department may indict him, that he may be the first president in quite some time to face the real prospect of jail time,” Schiff told CBS on Sunday.

CNBC’s Joe Kernen asked McCarthy what he thought about these comments that Schiff made, and if McCarthy thinks Democrats are hesitant to impeach President Trump because of what happened when House Republicans impeached former President Bill Clinton in 1990s.

“What did Schiff say before any investigation started more than two years ago? That he had proof. He has no credibility on either side of the aisle when it comes [to] inside the House,” McCarthy said.

McCarthy then added that these investigations into Trump’s campaign, and possible collusion with the Russians in 2016, had uncovered nothing “that is impeachable.” McCarthy said that if Democrats impeached Trump they will “lose.”
