Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) has spent the better part of her reelection arguing she has bipartisan credentials, but weeks before the election she will attend a Bay Area fundraiser hosted by a member of a liberal donor group that also includes Jonathan Soros and ‘impeach Trump’ leader Tom Steyer.

The Washington Free Beacon reported Tuesday that Quinn Delaney is hosting a $1,000 per-plate lunch for McCaskill in Piedmont, California in September:

Quinn Delaney, who—along with her husband Wayne Jordan—has given millions of dollars to Democratic candidates and liberal groups, is listed as the host for a midday September 21 fundraiser put on by Electing Women Bay Area PAC and authorized by McCaskill’s reelection campaign. The group is putting on a second $1,000 fundraiser for McCaskill that evening at an unspecified address in San Francisco, across the bay from Delaney’s home.

The Beacon noted that Delaney is actively involved in the Democracy Alliance group, a confab of rich liberal donors.

Both [Delaney and husband Wayne Jordan] are involved members of the Democracy Alliance, a network of wealthy liberal donors who pledge to spend millions supporting liberal organizations.

Politico reported in 2014 that the Democracy Alliance club includes Jonathan Soros, son of prominent liberal donor George Soros, and Tom Steyer, who now leads the ‘impeach Trump’ movement.

Some of the country’s biggest Democratic donors — including Tom Steyer and Jonathan Soros — are huddling behind closed doors beginning Sunday in Chicago with union bigwigs and progressive superstars like Bill de Blasio to plan how to pull their party — and the country — to the left.

The setting is the annual spring meeting of the Democracy Alliance, a secretive club of wealthy liberals that’s the closest thing the left has to the vaunted Koch brothers’ political network.

McCaskill may have a hard time explaining to Missourians why she’s hanging out in the Bay Area with liberal donors instead of campaigning for reelection in the Show Me State.
