Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said the successful confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court was his proudest moment as a United States Senator during an interview on Sunday.

Fox News’ Chris Wallace highlighted that under President Trump, McConnell has been able to confirm two Supreme Court Justices and 26 circuit court judges.

Wallace then asked McConnell whether this was his proudest moment as a senator.

“I think so,” McConnell said. “I think the most important thing the Senate is involved in is the personnel business.”

McConnell then told Wallace that the most critical appointment that can come before the Senate are “lifetime appointments to the courts.”
