Despite not having the necessary votes to pass the GOP Health Care Plan, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), chair of the House Freedom Caucus, said that “progress is being made” on a deal.
“We have not gotten enough of our members to get to ‘yes’ under what we’re currently considering. However I would say progress is being made,” Meadows said.
Meadows praised President Trump’s commitment to lowering premiums, calling his dialogue with Congress “unparalleled.”
Meadows also referenced Trump’s desire to work with Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) to lower prescription drug prices, saying it signaled good will on the part of the President to work with Congress.
