More Americans Give Trump Credit for Strong Economy than Obama

A Quinnipiac University poll found that more American voters believe President Trump is responsible for the strong economy than former President Barack Obama, and overwhelmingly American voters think the economy is either “excellent” or “good.

According to the poll, 48 percent of those surveyed credit Trump for the strong economy, while 41 percent credit Obama. This is the first time in a year that Americans credit Trump rather than Obama for the strong economy.

Seventy percent of those surveyed said that the U.S. economy is “excellent” or “good,” and 75 percent of those surveyed said that their financial situation is “excellent” or “good.”

A majority of those surveyed also said that they approve of Trump’s handling of the economy.

Trump’s 40-percent approval rating is also his best in seven months, according to the Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday.
