The Washington Post’s global opinion editor Karen Attiah said that if she were an official in any other country, she would be “issuing travel warnings to the United States” over the political climate in the country on Wednesday.

Attiah and MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski were discussing the extreme political rhetoric in America that has resulted in several prominent leaders in the Democratic Party receiving pipe bombs in the mail from a deranged supporter of President Trump.

Attiah also mentioned how three men were found guilty of plotting to “kill Somali refugees by blowing up an apartment complex in Kansas that contained a mosque,” according to CNN, and how they were partially motivated by Trump’s rhetoric.

“People are dying, people are really dying over this. And I think that is one thing that Americans need to consider when they go to the polls. Is this the country we want to be?” Attiah asked. “Right now, [with]the last week that we’ve had, the last two weeks, if I were any other country I’d be issuing travel warnings to the United States over the climate and over the violence that we’ve seen.”
