Mueller Report Concludes Trump Campaign Didn’t Collude with Russia

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into whether President Trump’s 2016 campaign had knowingly colluded with the Russian government concluded on Friday, and according to the summary of the report that Attorney General William Barr sent to congressional leaders on Sunday, Mueller found no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Mueller had spent 675 days investigating whether the Trump campaign had knowingly conspired with the Russian government to influence the 2016 presidential campaign, interviewing nearly 500 witnesses during the course of the investigation.

On the question of whether Trump obstructed justice, Mueller “didn’t draw a conclusion one way or the other on obstruction,” according to NBC News, instead leaving that decision up to Barr, who concluded that “Mueller did not establish that Trump committed the crime of obstruction of justice.”

“No Collusion, No Obstruction, Complete and Total EXONERATION,” Trump wrote on Twitter.

“This was an illegal takedown that failed. And hopefully somebody is going to be looking at the other side. So it’s a complete exoneration, no collusion, no obstruction, thank you very much,” Trump told reporters about the investigation on Sunday.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) said, “Mueller did not exonerate the president” of obstruction on Sunday, and added that he will be calling on Barr to testify before his committee on this issue in the near future.
