NBC’s Tom Brokaw Accused of Sexual Misconduct

NBC’s Tom Brokaw, one of NBC News’ most recognizable anchors, is facing separate allegations of sexual misconduct, according to a report in The Washington Post.

Brokaw hosted “NBC Nightly News” for over two decades, and he regularly contributes to various shows on MSNBC. According to the Post, he even lectured a panel on “Morning Joe” after allegations against Roy Moore scuttled his Senate campaign.

The allegations against him come months after a number of women accused NBC host Matt Lauer of sexual misconduct. Two women have come forward with stories about Brokaw.

Matt Lauer is not the only prominent anchor at NBC who allegedly sought inappropriate relationships with younger women. Linda Vester, a former NBC correspondent, told The Post that legendary anchor Tom Brokaw made unwanted advances toward her on two occasions in the 1990s, including a forcible attempt to kiss her. Vester was in her 20s and did not file a complaint.

Another woman, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, also told The Post that Brokaw acted inappropriately toward her in the ’90s, when she was a young production assistant and he was an anchor. He said no such incident happened.

It’s not clear how the network will handle the latest allegations against one of its stars.
