Nevada Dem Texted Lobbyist: ‘What Color Are Your Panties?’

A Nevada lobbyist has accused Rep. Ruben Kihuen (D-NV) of making “repeated and unwanted sexual advances” when he was a state senator in 2015.

The woman, who asked not to be identified, showed the Nevada Independent “hundreds of suggested text messages” she received from Kihuen. He repeatedly asked to spend the night at her place. The texts got worse from there.

Once, he texted her to ask, “What color are your panties?” When she wouldn’t tell him, he said it “Makes me sad ” and that “My day can’t go on without knowing.”

The lobbyist “ejected outright, ignored or otherwise attempted to rebuff his persistent advances,” according to the report.

The also said the texts, which included excessive use of emojis, were a continuation of sexually-suggestive Facebook messages she received from Kihuen dating back to 2013. He repeatedly asked that she sit on his lap during legislative hearings.

Kihuen effusively used emoji in his texts, sending her kissy-faces with hearts, heart-eye emoji and red hearts.

During a committee hearing, Kihuen texted her, “ How was your weekend?” and then, “You should come sit on my lap.” After she responded, trying to brush him off, he responded, “I have more cushion than those seats.” He texted her at least two other times asking her to come sit on his lap.

Earlier this month another woman accused Kihuen of sexual harassment. Kihuen denied that charge, but claimed House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) knew about the allegations before they became public. She has called for him to resign.

Kihuen is a known Harry Reid acolyte, but the retired senator has not condemned Kihuen or called for his resignation. Several Nevada insiders have speculated that Reid and his team also knew about Kihuen’s behavior before it became public.
