New Ad Campaign Targets the Health Insurance Tax

The 60 Plus Association, a social welfare organization, released a new ad that targets the unpopular Health Insurance Tax (HIT) increase that is set to go into effect on January 1, 2018.

HIT is a secret $21 billion tax increase on middle-class families, small businesses, and seniors that would be the first tax increase of the Trump administration.

The 60 Plus Association ad, released on Monday, is part of their $500,000 television campaign aimed at blocking a planned tax increase on senior citizens.

“Nineteen million American seniors could have a very unhappy new year,” the ad’s narrator claims. “Unless Congress acts by midnight on December 31, seniors with Medicare Advantage will be hit with a new $500-per-couple health insurance tax.”

The ad’s narrator concludes the ad by calling on Americans to tell Congress to stop the HIT.

A recent poll conducted by the Winston Group found only one in five voters believed Congress should allow this tax to go forward. Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO), along with other GOP senators, has proposed delaying this tax for one year.
