New Ad Hits McCaskill’s ‘Double-Talk’

The GOP-aligned Americans For Prosperity is out with a new ad attacking Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) in Missouri, highlighting McCaskill’s “double-talk” on tax cuts and her private jet.

“Senator McCaskill told Missourians she was going on an RV tour, but then she used her private plane,” the narrator says. “McCaskill said she’d support tax cuts, then voted against a plan to save families $2,000.”

“Missourians can tell the difference between an RV and a plane,” the narrator concludes. “And a politician who says one thing but does another.”

The ad buy, for $1.8 million, was first reported in Politico‘s Morning Score (paywall).

— Americans for Prosperity, a group financed by the Koch brothers, is spending $1.8 million in Missouri on TV and digital ads attacking Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill. The ad attacks McCaskill for using her private plane to travel the state during a portion of her recent RV tour, and for voting against Republicans tax cuts last year.

It will add to the pressure McCaskill is under in 2018, especially when she opens herself up to charges of hypocrisy.
