The Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF) released a new ad slamming several House Democratic candidates on Monday for not denouncing Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chair Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) despite allegations of domestic abuse against Ellison.

Ellison’s ex-girlfriend, Karen Monahan, has accused Ellison of emotionally and physically abusing her during their relationship, allegations that Ellison has denied.

These allegations emerged days before Ellison won the Democratic Party’s nomination for Minnesota attorney general.

The ad, titled “Ashamed,” goes after, “Dan Feehan in the 1st Congressional District, Angie Craig in the 2nd Congressional District, Dean Phillips in the 3rd Congressional District and Joe Radinovich in the 8th Congressional District,” for standing by Ellison despite the National Organization for Women (NOW) demanding Ellison drop out of his race.

“Disturbing allegations of domestic violence against Congressman Keith Ellison,” the ad’s narrator said at the start of the ad.

Then the ad shows a clip of Monahan recounting her allegations against Ellison to CBS News.

“Now, the National Organization for Women is calling for Ellison to end his campaign. But Angie Craig is standing by Keith Ellison,” the ad’s narrator said. “Backing Ellison instead of believing his victim? Angie Craig should be ashamed.”
