New Poll Has Abrams Trailing Kemp in Georgia’s Governor Race

A new NBC/Marist poll released on Wednesday has Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp leading his Democratic opponent Stacey Abrams by two points.

The Georgia gubernatorial race has become one of the nation’s most contentious races of the 2018 midterm elections.

According to the poll, Kemp leads Abrams among likely voters 49 percent to 47 percent, while the two are deadlocked among registered voters.

The poll “mirrors other surveys of the Georgia race,” which usually have “Kemp with a 1- or 2-point edge,” over Abrams, according to Politico.
